Horse Properties and Rural Settings
Albuquerque, New Mexico, and the Southwest evoke images of wide-open spaces, deserts, and desert flora and ranches. Real estate in the North Valley ranges from large equestrian properties to small ranchettes and other Southwestern-style casita properties. The neighborhoods are a “village” atmosphere, with walking areas close to small markets and shopping areas. The larger estate homes are known for their elegance, and horse properties are possible. Some of the best horse training facilities are in the North Valley.

Dining in the North Valley
Some fine dining experiences can be found in the North Valley, like Farm and Table, Vernon’s Speakeasy (sounds intriguing!), and for a New Mexico experience, check out El Pinto.
New homes are being built frequently in the North Valley. The North Valley features a great library (or two), and plenty of public parks. An amazing location to visit, and don’t forget to pet the cat, is Los Poblanos.

Property Near the Rio Grande
The North Valley runs along the Rio Grande. The land is green and native vegetation such as cottonwood trees is abundant. The close proximity to the river makes the land ideal for farms and wineries, so farmers markets and wine tastings are just a short drive away, as well as the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, the Unser Racing Museum, and the Rio Grande Nature Center. One of the most popular attractions in the North Valley is the Bosque Trail or the Paseo del Bosque Trail. It’s a paved, sixteen mile-long trail for walking, biking, and horseback riding. If you’ve always dreamed of owning your own horse property, the North Valley may be just the place you’ve been looking for. Horse properties are allowed in many areas of the North Valley. There are bed and breakfasts, perfect for weekend getaways, art galleries, and craft shows. The many dining and shopping opportunities make the North Valley an interesting, creative, and self-contained community, but you’re still close to Albuquerque if you’re looking for more nightlife.
